New Curriculum
I am currently beginning a new Curriculum Guide with Caden. It is called The Itty-Bitty Bookworm. So far Caden is interested!! The first thing you do is read the book that is assigned. It is called The Piggy in The Puddle, once you read it there are all kinds of activities to go along with it. Below is a list of activities we have already done.
- Learning Center- At the Sand and Water Table center we purchased some rubber ducks from Party City and I drew shapes on the bottom of the ducks. I had a water bucket and dry bucket. We talked about the following:
- Wet and Dry-when we pulled the ducks out of the water we would dry them off.
- Wet and Dry-Transfer wet ducks to dry bucket with a net.
- Counting- We counted the ducks when we would catch them in the net. He only counted up to two.
- Shapes-Wasn't interested, we talked about a few. He does know some of them but he was more interested in using the net.
- Activity-
- Introduced vocabulary card-pigs
- Looked at the pig pictures and talked about What color pigs are? What do pigs like to do? What do pigs eat? and Have you ever seen a pig?
- Hand Puppet-I made a pig hand puppet and he loved it. He calls it Oink Oink! He wanted hime to play cars with him. I had Oink Oink show Caden his other pig friends and we hung them on the wall. We also talked about baby pigs, mamma pigs, and different color pigs. Caden cried when I put Oink Oink away.
- Creative Arts-
- Paper Plate Pig

Online Game
We played a cute online game that worked with the alphabet. Caden would push a letter and then an animal would come on the screen and made it's sound. Caden would even say the letter before he pushed it on the keyboard. He just couldn't wait to see what animal would come up when he pushed the letter.

The best birthday part ever!
We went to our friend Regan's birthday party this weekend at Wildlife Center. It was so fun! You go on this ride...kind of like a hayride but with no hay. It takes you on a trail where all the animals are and they eat right from your hand or bucket. We saw zebras, camels, buffaloes, ostriches, and more! The best part is that the animals are so extremely close and the kids absolutely love it.

Tents and more
Last week we had cousin Zoe over and as always had a great time. I made tents for both of the kids! I wanted to make something that was safe so nothing would fall on them. So I stapled the blankets to the wall and to the entertainment center. It worked great!:) Hannah wanted to play sooooo bad but wasn't' sure what she was supposed to do to join in on the fun. Then we all went to the park. After the park we went to story time at the library Zoe loved it. She mainly enjoyed the singing part!:) After the library we came home and played outside with water. I put the water in some containers and put some toys that they could pour the water into. They weren't to interested, just interested in splashing each other. They still had fun! Fun day!

Dorito Casserole
Dorito Casserole
1 bag of nacho cheese Doritoes or the spicy ones
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of rotel
1 package of taco seasoning
3-4 chicken breast
Shredded cheddar cheese
Cut chicken into cubes and then cook chicken on stove and then follow the directions on the back of the taco seasoning mix. Once chicken is cooked and taco seasoning is in then add 1 can of cream of mushroom soup and 1 can of Rotel. Stir. While that is heating up get a baking dish and put a layer of Doritoes and sprinkle cheese on top. Then pour in your chicken mixture and you can put another layer of Doritoes and cheese or I just sprinkle cheese on top. Cover and cook in oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until cheese has melted.

Caden's Shamrocks
Since St. Patrick's Day is this month I wanted Caden to learn what Shamrocks are. We are going to do a few activities all month and our first one was done today. I cut out shamrocks and with glue I put 1 letter of his name on each shamrock and he sprinkled the glitter on. He enjoyed seeing and calling out the letters of his name.
