Sensory Tub

Caden is currently 30 months

Not much has gone on this week with Tot School, but we are looking forward to a new week and will be discussing Bubbles! Thank you so much Tara for sharing the ideas about the Sensory Tubs. I have the same issues as I am sure every Mom has when we are cooking dinner...the kids all of the sudden don't want to play with their toys...you don't want to resort to turning on the TV and they want to be in the kitchen and tend to be very fussy. So today I tried making a Sensory Tub with my son Caden. He practiced cutting and by the way he loved cutting straws. Then when it was time for dinner I put the wagon of straws out with measuring cups and a muffin pan so they could transfer the straws from one thing to the next. Ya, they were occupied for at least 30 minutes for me to put dinner in the oven. It was kind of a mess to clean up but I didn't care, as long as I could get dinner ready. Next time I may put something underneath them when they play for an easier clean up. Thanks again Tara

Transferring
Hannah is 13 1/2 months
Transferring buttons to one small circle container to the next. Look at those sweet little hands. :)))))))
Pouring craft jewels into the bucket. She sure is focused! lol
Transferring craft jewels from one bucket to the next.
Transferring jewels from a small circle container to a heart ice maker container.
I got an empty season shaker and then I cute up straws. Hannah loved sticking the straws through the holes. Kept her entertained. I also used pipe cleaners.

Writing on a mini chalkboard.
Putting memory cards back in the container.
Matching memory cards in a mini pocket chart.
Matching lower case letters.
Bottle Activities with Hannah
Hannah writing on a mini chalk board.
I got this bottle idea from this great site...Little Hands, Big Work.
Hannah loves it. This time I used other objects for her to put in the bottle. Popsicle sticks, dominoes and pom-poms.

Popsicle Stick Bottle and Pom-Pom Bottle
I don't have a picture of Hannah putting the popsicle sticks in the water bottle but she loved this activity. Little Hands, Big Work used paper clips but I used popsicle sticks because I did not want Hannah to stick them in her mouth.
Hannah also enjoyed putting pom-poms in an bottle.
I got these ideas from Little Hands, Big Work. Caden was not interested in the new activities for long but Hannah enjoyed both of them.
