Chicken, Zucchini, and Potatoes

This is one of everyone's favorites.  I finally have a picture!
Chicken with Chicken Rub and Olive Oil
Ingredients:
  • Chicken with bone and skin
  • Extra Virgin Olive oil
  • Chicken Rub Seasoning
You can cook this on the grill or in the oven.  It is more crispier on the grill than the oven.

Directions for grill:
Heat grill on the low setting.  Place chicken on any pan.  Sprinkle desired amount of Chicken Rub Seasoning on chicken, then drizzle Extra Virgin Olive oil over chicken.  Flip chicken and do the same to the other side.  Place chicken meat side down and cook for 20 min. flip and coo for another 20 min.  Chicken Breast take longer...I think about 30 min. on each side.

Zucchini or Yellow Squash
Ingredients:
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Kosher Salt
Directions:
Put about 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the pan.  Heat skillet on medium heat.  While skillet is heating wash and peal zucchini.  Slice zucchini and place in pan, sprinkle salt and cook until brown I think about 20 min.

Potatoes
Ingredients:
  • Extra Virgin Olive oil
  • Kosher Salt
  • Tonies Creole
Directions:
Turn oven on at 400 degrees.  Wash, peel, and cut potatoes.  Drizzle olive oil in a pan, place potatoes in pan and then drizzle more olive oil over potatoes.  Sprinkle very little salt and then sprinkle desired amount of Tonies creole.  Cook for about 30 min.  The longer you cook them the crispier they will get.

Caden hasn't been eating much vegetables lately so after I cooked the Zucchini I put it in a food processor just until it was cut in small pieces and I put it in his mac and cheese and he ate all of it.  I was so excited!!!  Usually if he sees anything green anywhere he will take it out.  This time he couldn't see it as much!

Rodeo with Caden

We had such a fun time with Caden at the Rodeo!!!!!  I did not think we would get to see Keith Urban last night but Caden made it through and he loved it.  First we went and saw all the animals and he couldn't get enough of them.  When we got to the stadium he was a little overwhelmed with the loud stadium but when the fireworks blared he was defiantly in shock and just stared and stared.  The music came on then he was mesmerized (spelling?).  He had a great time!  Oh, and Keith Urban was awesome!!!!!!

Hannah's Best Friends

This week Hannah got to spend time with her best friends and had a wonderful time!!!!  Here are some photos of my little angel.

Oh, and we had our 9 month old check up today.  I was curious to know how much she weighed because Hannah is so little.  Well her weigh is 14 lbs 8.5 oz.  Height 26 3/4 Dr. said that she is a little anemic so we are adding an iron supplement (ICAR).  She also suggested to take ProBiotic Boost by Advocare with the ICAR and continue after we are finished with ICAR.

Description of ProBiotic Boost:
  • Provides immune system support*
  • Supports healthy intestinal function*
  • Aids good digestion*
  • Helps promote regularity*
  • Great for the whole family
She also suggest Hannah taking Meal Replacement Shakes by Advocare which would increase her protein therefore increase her weight.

If you are interested in any of these products except for the iron I will get you the info.  I have also used other products by Advocare with Caden and have been very successful.

Making green and making mud

Creative Arts-
Green Paint Squishers-
  • Today we mixed yellow paint and blue paint in a snack bag to make green.  After we mixed it we painted with our new color.  He loved squishing the bag!
Mud Puddles-
  • We tried to make brown paint to resemble mud.  I didn't' have any brown paint so we mixed some colors and it came out to be army green instead.  Thats ok he enjoyed painting with it anyways.
Learning Center-
Mud Puddle-
  • I cut grocery bags into squares and put them in our little pool and we pretended it was a large mud puddle.  Caden put all his stuffed animals cars and a puzzle inside the pool.  He rolled and rolled in the pool.  It was so neat, he picked up one of the pieces of brown bag I had cut and said "Mommy Diamond".  Then he said "Square" and held it to the pillow and said "Match".  What an awesome teaching moment!!!
Oh and we made Pudding Mud Cups

Caden loved crushing the oreos and mixing the pudding together.  He really enjoyed all the activities today.  So far I am loving this curriculum.

Hannah 9 months and Caden 26 months

We were having story time in Caden's room today.  What we do is pull out all the stuffed animals and a few pillows and gather around and read.  Today, Caden decided he wanted to hold Hannah (which is very rare).  He knows what gentle is but chooses to be gentle then ruff.  We had a good time so I hadddd to take some pictures.  Hope you enjoy!

New Curriculum

I am currently beginning a new Curriculum Guide with Caden.  It is called The Itty-Bitty Bookworm.    So far Caden is interested!!  The first thing you do is read the book that is assigned.  It is called The Piggy in The Puddle, once you read it there are all kinds of activities to go along with it.  Below is a list of activities we have already done.
  • Learning Center- At the Sand and Water Table center we purchased some rubber ducks from Party City and I drew shapes on the bottom of the ducks.  I had a water bucket and dry bucket.  We talked about the following:
  1. Wet and Dry-when we pulled the ducks out of the water we would dry them off.
  2. Wet and Dry-Transfer wet ducks to dry bucket with a net.
  3. Counting- We counted the ducks when we would catch them in the net.  He only counted up to two.
  4. Shapes-Wasn't interested, we talked about a few.  He does know some of them but he was more interested in using the net.
  • Activity-
  1. Introduced vocabulary card-pigs
  2. Looked at the pig pictures and talked about What color pigs are?  What do pigs like to do? What do pigs eat?  and Have you ever seen a pig?
  3. Hand Puppet-I made a pig hand puppet and he loved it.  He calls it Oink Oink!  He wanted hime to play cars with him.  I had Oink Oink show Caden his other pig friends and we hung them on the wall.  We also talked about baby pigs, mamma pigs, and different color pigs.  Caden cried when I put Oink Oink away.
  • Creative Arts-
  1. Paper Plate Pig
