More Vacation Pictures

Hannah's favorite thing to do on the entire trip...push the buggy!

Caden and Hannah at the Zoo! Too sweet! Don't worry, it only last for a few seconds!

Caden is looking for the animals on his Animal Sticker Bingo. Before we left for the San Diego Zoo me and my husband made Caden an animal bingo game. So everytime he found an animal that was on his sticker sheet he would put a sticker on that animal.

We found Fillmore!:) Oh, and Caden had to carry Hannah purse...but he did have his cars in them. lol

Caden telling Hannah what to do.

How we do Mommy School

A few of my readers have asked How do I do Mommy School with an almost 3 year old and almost 1 1/2 year old? Well it has been a lot of trial and errors and I am sure there will be many more. As of now things are flowing very nicely the way we are doing Mommy School now.

In the picture above I have a cheap version of a flip chart with songs and activities we have planned for the week. I printed out the songs on my computer and laminated them. Then I punched two holes in the top and laced yarn through them so I could hang them on the easel. Each poster is a song or it has a label such as: Story Time, Bible Time, Craft Time or Prayer Time. So when we get to that picture or song the kids know what is next. I change the songs weekly according to the lesson we have for the week. All of our lessons come from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm.

Feel free to click on Posters for Mommy School and it will send you to my print outs if you are interested in making yourself a flip chart. Please send pictures if you have created one yourself. Can't wait to see!

Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm

Caden is currently 34 months old and
Hannah is currently 16 1/2 months old

We are currently reading Mrs. Wishy-Washy's Farm and doing the lessons from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm Bo's Year 1 October.
Animal Jail: We discussed how the animals felt when they went into jail. "Where they happier at the farm? Why are they sad?" I had the kids color the animals and then made jail bars by gluing straws on top of the animals.

This is Hannah's lesson from Bailey's The Itty-Bitty Bookworm (year 1 Oct.). We are reading Old MacDonald had a Farm. So we put the eggs in the basket and sang The farmers got the eggs, the farmers got the eggs, Hi ho the dary oh, the farmers got the eggs.

Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm- Duck and Bubbles in the Tub

This is Caden's duck. Caden cut out an orange triangle for the duck's beak and then he glued feathers on the duck.

Hannah did the same. Caden cut our her beak for her.
Bubbles in the Tub: We are still reading Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm. Both lessons are from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm. Caden had to put the correct number of bubbles (cotton balls) according to the number cards, in the tubs (cups).

Adam and Eve

Caden's snake that Mommy cut.

Caden said he wanted to cut, so I let him.

Caden's snake he cut out.

Adam and Eve: This lesson is from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm Bible Mini Units. First we read the story from our Big Picture Story Bible. We talked about how the snake (saten) is bad and God is good and how Adam and Eve did not listen to God about not eating from the special tree and yet God still forgives us for making mistakes.

Paper Plate Snake: Directions are to draw a swirl and have the kids color or paint the snake. Once the snake is colored then have the children or adult cut the swirl and it becomes a snake. I cut the first one and Caden said he wanted to cut so I let him and he did such a wonderful job.

We are back!!! Last week we went on vacation to California! We went to the San Diego Zoo, Lego Land, and Disneyland. Along with entertaining the kids me and my husband also got to surf. Boy, they waves in Cali are defiantly more fun than were we live. We have surfed in Mexico but I have never surfed in Cali before...I truly enjoyed Cali's surf! More pictures to come.

Mrs. Wishy-Washy's Farm: Day 1

Bubbles: I printed out the scrub tub activity sheet from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm. I put blue and white paint on a paper plate. Then I had Caden dip the end of a pencil eraser in the paint and onto his tub to make small bubbles. We also made big bubbles, we used one of his circular blocks.
How many animals do you see? In this lesson we were to count all the animals we saw in the book Mrs. Wishy-Washy's Farm. Then we combined Hannah's lesson from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm's Bailey lessons. We put her animal puzzle pieces in a bag and she pulled them out one at a time and we talked about the name of the animal and the sound.
"In the Barn" Booklet (day 1): In this lesson I printed out the cow picture and Caden used a sponge clipped at the end of a sponge and he was to make spots on the cow.

This week: This week we are reading Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm and Old MacDonald had a Farm. We are talking about farm animals.

Name Cards: I Like Me

Name Cards: In our Itty-Bitty Bookworm lesson this week we did name cards. Caden did a really good job. All I did was put the glue on the paper. Hannah on the other-hand....lol...glue on hands...glue on paper....buttons on hands...not much was accomplished but she still enjoyed trying to put the buttons on her paper.
