Day 1 Creation with The Itty-Bitty Bookworm

I know we are doing Creation again....but this time we are using The Itty-Bitty Bookworms Mini Bible units. I am so excited about them. So here is our Day 1 listed below.

We had an opening prayer: All things bright and beautiful, All creatures, great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all.

Shared reading: We read two books: God Created by Mark Francisco Bozzuti-Jones and The Beautiful World that God Made by Rhonda Gowler Greene
We used the pictures provided by The Itty-Bitty Bookworm and glued them on felt and posted them on the felt board while we read the stories.

Song: He's Got the Whole World

Games: Itty-Bitty Bookworm provided day and night cards. So then we placed them under the correct label depending on the picture.

Let There Be Light: I cut a circle out of card stock paper, then I cut triangles out of yellow construction paper. Next, I mixed glue and yellow paint together. Caden then painted the circle with the yellow mixture. Then I let him sprinkle cornmeal onto the circles. After sprinkled the cornmeal on the yellow circle then he glued the yellow triangles around the sun.

Finger Painting - More, More, More Sait The Baby

In this lesson by The Itty-Bitty Bookworm we read our book More, More, More Said the Baby and then we finger painted. We talked about how babies paint with their fingers and we also talked about the circle we painted on.

Labor Day Fun!

On Labor Day we went to Mee-Maw's House and the kids had so much fun! We played on the slip n' slide, picked Mee-Maw's flowers, played stickers with Grandma Schindler, giggled with new baby Lyla!!! What fun!!

Scribble Art - More, More, More Said the Baby

Caden is currently 32 1/2 months and
Hannah is currently 15 months

I helped Hannah. Caden kept on giving me crayons so I would color with the kids. lol Hannah liked painting with the water color but got upset because the paint ran out so fast. Ha!

Caden said he did not want to scribble like a baby. He said he is a Big Boy!

Scribble Art - In this lesson from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm we talked about how babies scribble and so that is what we did. We scribbled with crayons and then painted over them with water color.

Night, Night Baby! - More, More, More Said the Baby

Night, Night Baby! - With this lesson from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm we colored the babies and then used a q-tip to put glue on the babies and placed a blanket on top to put them night, night! Both of the kids wanted to keep gluing with the q-tip.

The Itty-Bitty Bookworms 2nd Birthday!!!

I have been using Tara's Curriculum, The Itty-Bitty Bookworm for almost 6 months, and my son is always engaged and loves every lesson. I defiantly recommend this curriculum!

Rice Sensory Tub

I though for sure that my kids would last longer scooping rice...they only lasted about 10 minutes. I had to come up with a new plan...so I emptied what was left of our sand box and poured the rice in there and WA LA they lasted for about 30 minutes more (don't have a picture).

This was such a cute lesson by The Itty-Bitty Bookworm!

Get on the Bus Lesson- I took the kids on a pretend bus ride. I lined up our chairs, and had the bus driver use a paper plate as the steering wheel. We also used bus name tags and name tags for their seat on the bus with their picture on it. While we they were sitting in the chairs the Wheels on the Bus song was on and then we sang it without the song.

Wheels, Wheels, and Wheels- For this lesson I printed out the school bus and told Caden to color were he thought the windows and wheels might go. Then he glued on windows and wheels that I had cut for him.

Alligators

We talked all about Alligators. Where they lived, how the mother carries their babies, why alligators like sitting in the sun and more. One of our activities was to make alligators with our play dough. So we did...we had a great time putting them in the water and the mud. We also counted them.

Another one of our lessons was about colors and how God made them. I made colored crayons out of felt, then I made pictures that went a long with the color and I had him match them. He played about 3 times.

Daddy, Kids, and Marker...Oh My!

Caden has been hitting a golf ball since he was 13 months old. About the age of Hannah in the picture above. I need to pull it out and compare the two!
