Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm

Caden is currently 34 months old and
Hannah is currently 16 1/2 months old

We are currently reading Mrs. Wishy-Washy's Farm and doing the lessons from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm Bo's Year 1 October.

Animal Jail: We discussed how the animals felt when they went into jail. "Where they happier at the farm? Why are they sad?" I had the kids color the animals and then made jail bars by gluing straws on top of the animals.

This is Hannah's lesson from Bailey's The Itty-Bitty Bookworm (year 1 Oct.). We are reading Old MacDonald had a Farm. So we put the eggs in the basket and sang The farmers got the eggs, the farmers got the eggs, Hi ho the dary oh, the farmers got the eggs.

Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm- Duck and Bubbles in the Tub

This is Caden's duck. Caden cut out an orange triangle for the duck's beak and then he glued feathers on the duck.

Hannah did the same. Caden cut our her beak for her.

Bubbles in the Tub: We are still reading Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm. Both lessons are from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm. Caden had to put the correct number of bubbles (cotton balls) according to the number cards, in the tubs (cups).

Mrs. Wishy-Washy's Farm: Day 1

Bubbles: I printed out the scrub tub activity sheet from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm. I put blue and white paint on a paper plate. Then I had Caden dip the end of a pencil eraser in the paint and onto his tub to make small bubbles. We also made big bubbles, we used one of his circular blocks.
How many animals do you see? In this lesson we were to count all the animals we saw in the book Mrs. Wishy-Washy's Farm. Then we combined Hannah's lesson from The Itty-Bitty Bookworm's Bailey lessons. We put her animal puzzle pieces in a bag and she pulled them out one at a time and we talked about the name of the animal and the sound.
"In the Barn" Booklet (day 1): In this lesson I printed out the cow picture and Caden used a sponge clipped at the end of a sponge and he was to make spots on the cow.

This week: This week we are reading Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm and Old MacDonald had a Farm. We are talking about farm animals.
