Good Morning Greeting-Itty Bitty bookworm
For this lesson I wrote Hannah's, Caden's, and Mommy's name on a paper plate. We sung a song called If Your Name is on the Plate and Caden had to find his name on the plate. He was kind of upset because Daddy's name wasn't there! Cute!
Sound Sort-Itty-Bitty Bookworm
Caden did a really good job with the Sound Sort Lesson. The Itty-Bitty Bookworm provided letter flashcards and animal picture cards. I printed the names of the animals and underlined the first letter of the word. We talked about each letter card and placed them in the pocket chart. I then showed him the name of the animal and asked him what the first letter was. Then I had him glue the animal word on the correct picture of the animal. We then placed the animal picture next to the letter card that matched the first letter of the animal word. He really enjoyed the activity and learned a whole lot for a 2 1/2 year old. It wasn't too overwhelming for him.
One Duck Stuck-My Duck Creation-Bo's Itty-Bitty Bookworm
As I said before we are beginning to use the Bo's Curriculum of The Itty-Bitty Bookworm. We are currently reading One Stuck Duck. In this activity we were to create a duck from imagination. I decided to give Caden a picture of a duck and a duck pattern (from this site) and for him to put it together with as little guidance as possible. Oh, and he insisted on gluing the picture of the duck on the duck. lol
Bo's Curriculum
This week our lessons are based on the story One Duck Stuck. In this picture Caden is doing the Shape Pokey. We sang the Hokey Pokey song, but instead of using our body parts we used shapes. It took him a little while to warm up. I had to do it about 3 times and then he got interested.
Name Match- I printed out the words of each shape. I showed him the word and talked about the first letter of the word and then we would glue the word to the shape.
I forgot to print the Diamond word and so I wrote it on there so then Caden decided he wanted to write Diamond too.
My website My Family Life is also posted on their site if you would like to see some of the things we have completed with the Bailey's curriculum which is ages 18-36 months. I currently just began using the Bo's curriculum ages 3-5 years old. Love it!!!!!
